A celebration marking the end of the school year at the Polish-Canadian School and Kindergarten Maple Bear in Katowice.
A celebration marking the end of the first school year was held today at the Polish-Canadian School and Kindergarten Maple Bear in Katowice, which first opened back in September 2023.
This important event brought together students, parents, teachers and representatives of the local community to celebrate another important step in the development of the Maple Bear network in Poland. The ceremony was also attended by the representatives of the company responsible for the development of the Maple Bear network in Poland: Luc Albinski, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Maple Bear Holdings Poland, and Grzegorz Esz, CEO of Maple Bear Schools Poland.
Maple Bear, the world’s largest private educational network of Canadian origin, is known around the world for its innovative approach to bilingual education and effective combination of local and Canadian educational requirements.
In just a few months, in September 2024, new Maple Bear facilities will open as well – in Wroclaw and Krakow. Maple Bear Poland plans to open 40 schools and kindergartens across the country.
Maple Bear Katowice offers a curriculum ranging from preschool to elementary school, with a strong emphasis on developing language skills, critical thinking and creativity.
The school uses Canadian teaching methods, which are considered to be the best in the world, while integrating the Polish educational program, which ensures comprehensive preparation of students for further education and helps them facilitate educational and professional success in the future. Due to being a part of the largest educational network in the world, the teaching staff is trained by Canadian experts who regularly visit the school and oversee the implementation of the curriculum.
While greeting the children, parents and guests, Izabela Kotuła, the Principal of Maple Bear Katowice School and Kindergarten, said “This is a special moment for all of us, which prompts us to reflect on what we have achieved together, and to thank everyone for their support, trust and commitment. First of all, I would like to express my deep gratitude to the parents, for your trust. It was you who trusted us enough ten months ago to entrust us with the most precious treasure you hold – your children. Your trust was the foundation on which we could build our school community. Thank you for your help, availability and continuous support in our activities. Thanks to you, we were able to create a child-friendly environment where our students can develop their talents and skills in an atmosphere of understanding, joy and acceptance.”
One aspect of education at Maple Bear that is particularly important and highly valued by the parents is bilingualism and language immersion learning. The Canadian strategy for teaching a second language is to give the students an opportunity to be fully immersed in a second language. By having the opportunity to come into contact with a multicultural environment, children naturally develop the ability to think in another language and are able to adapt it to different contexts and situations.
“I am immensely proud that our school, which is a part of the Maple Bear global network, has already brought new global standards to the Polish education system in its first year of operation in Poland. At Maple Bear, we believe that the future of our children depends on the quality of their education. This is why we put a great emphasis on developing the competencies necessary in today’s rapidly changing world in our students. Our students have the opportunity to acquire knowledge and skills that will allow them to be successful in the future, not only in Poland, but also internationally.” – said Luc ALbiński, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Maple Bear Holdings Poland.
While thanking all the teachers and staff of the school for their work during the school year, the CEO of the Board of Directors of Maple Bear Schools Poland, Grzegorz Esz, said: “I would like to sincerely thank you all for your great commitment and everyday efforts to make Maple Bear Katowice a place that is safe, inspiring and opens children’s minds up to the modern world. I consider the conclusion of the first year of our work to be an important step in the development of Maple Bear in Poland and a great stimulus to continue to work together with you and the staff of the new schools we are about to open in Kraków and Wrocław to build an exceptional quality of bilingual education.”
During the ceremony, the children received Maple Bear certificates and certificates confirming their completion of the 2023/24 school year in accordance with the Maple Bear program, as well as awards for their greatest school achievements. Parents and guests were particularly appreciative of the children’s performances, prepared under the careful and warm guidance of their teachers.
The work of the Maple Bear Katowice school and teaching staff does not end with the end of the school year ceremony. During the summer, the school’s doors remain open to children and their parents. A Summer Day Camp program, packed with fun and engaging activities and events, will run throughout the summer.
