Second language – the earlier you start, the more effective it will be.

The main topic of the meeting was learning a second language, which is consistent with the results of scientific research should start as early as possible. Scientists have found that children under the age of 7 have the greatest ease acquiring a second language in a natural way. After the age of 7, this process becomes more and more difficult. It’s worth it also pay attention to the way in which the second language is introduced into the child’s life. According to the Canadian one teaching methodology, the most effective method is language immersion, which allows the child to spontaneously acquisition of foreign language skills. This is the method used in schools and kindergartens of Maple Bear is an export product of Canadian education. It is also transferred to other countries and was successfully developed and implemented by Canadian educators in all these locations.

A foreign language as a tool for discovering the world.

Canadian experts emphasize that language immersion enables immersion in a foreign language, which is most of all a communication tool. Children learn mainly through experience and interaction, not just through a theory. Immersion is a method that integrates foreign language learning with a cultural and academic context. Canadian schools focus on communication and the practical use of the language in everyday life. Students are motivated to explore and use language in a variety of contexts, which is leading to deeper understanding and language proficiency.

The class is the third teacher.

The method of conducting classes is also of great importance for the effectiveness of this process, as it allows children to develop their own interests, encourages group work and the exchange of experiences between children, and allows teachers to carefully monitor the child’s needs. In the Canadian education system the setting in the class rooms and available teaching aids are a very important element of the educational process. Equally important is the use of play, which in early school education is a huge importance for language development, because it allows children to express themselves and communicate with other children.
